A Minute of Second Glance
is a series of sixty small paintings that began with the process of deliberately taking second glances at common household items and materials. Each painting stemmed from the meditation on this unit of time by which we pace our lives, as if life itself is defined by a succession of extremely insignificant moments. In an attempt to relinquish the desire for efficiency that many household items seek to satisfy, an extended length of time was spent on understanding each material and the making of each painting.
This work will be exhibited at Maybe We Read Too Much Into Things
