A Yellow To Remember
A Yellow to Remember is an installation of images and text created in response to existing wall color, Happy Day, from Nippon Paint. The artwork explores the experience of color through a poem, strung together with names from Nippon Paint’s catalog of yellow shades and hues. It also introspects the intimate relationship with color through a series of every-day images of yellow objects, space, and people. What is the yellow you remember?

Untitled is a mural created for the annual multi-disciplinary public art project, ARTWALK Little India Festival 2018, in Singapore. Set in the cultural precinct of Little India, the 2018's edition was themed Urban Mythology to resurrect long-lost tales found in and around Little India through art.
In my search for a lost tale, I discovered one hidden within the Indian culture's language of flower. Marigolds that are often picked for garlands and weddings as love charms are believed to have superstitious powers of ceasing gossips and prompting cheerful conversations! Inspired by this belief, I painted Untitled as a message of love and blessing for Little India, in hope that at the sight of the Marigold, one of its cultural values is deepened and preserved.

Nesuto Patisserie is a local dessert and pastry cafe, designed and developed to be a brand where artisanal quality bakes are served in a cosy yet extravagant environment. The name Nesuto, translates to “nest” in Japanese.
To reflect Nesuto’s elegance, I created a design comprising of botanical features, painted in detail and muted colors to suit the atmosphere of the cafe. Inspired from old scientific illustrations of plants, the mural is painted to express Nesuto’s fine art of pastry and tea invention.

Hustle Co is a local cafe started by a team of young, passionate and driven start-up entrepreneurs in Singapore. Located on the ground floor of their start-up academy, they envisioned the cafe to be a creative space where ideas are born, passions are kindled and partnerships are strengthened through the enjoyment of food and beer.
The brief for the mural was to adopt plants as subject matter. Working within this constraint, I painted the flowers in strong, vibrant colors to express the team’s zealousness. The plants are also abstracted and suspended in space, mingling with various other gestural marks to evoke a sense of dynamism.
